How Your Network Works

Stay Ready connects households together to create mutual aid networks for emergency preparedness. When you join, you can invite family members, friends, and neighbors to your network. Here's how we handle that connection:

• You control your network. You choose who to invite and can remove connections at any time.
• Safety status is opt-in. You decide when to share your status and with whom.
• Location is yours. Your address is used for local weather alerts, not shared with your network unless you choose to share it.
• Resources stay private. Your supply kit inventory is private by default. You can choose to share specific items with your network during emergencies.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, phone number, and name. This information is used to identify you to your network and send critical emergency notifications.

Location Data

We collect your address to provide location-specific emergency alerts from the National Weather Service. We also use your general location to customize hazard recommendations for your region (earthquake zones, hurricane-prone areas, etc.). Your precise location is never shared with other users without your explicit consent.

Emergency Preparedness Data

We store information about your emergency plans, supply kit inventory, and household members. This data is used to provide personalized recommendations and track your preparedness progress.

Network Connections

When you connect with other households, we store the relationship type (family, friend, neighbor) and connection status. This enables mutual safety check-ins and resource coordination during emergencies.

Offline Access

Children's Privacy

Stay Ready is designed for household management and is not intended for children under 13. Household members under 13 should be added by a parent or guardian to the household profile, not as independent users.
